Garance & Anthracite Printed Light Trench Coat
Printed Light Trench Coat in Garance & Anthracite. Marbled papers entered the Western world in that era as souvenirs from travelers returning from the Orient. They are now established as principal decorative elements in the art of bookbinding. This fabric is delicate and must be treated with care. Each pattern is unique and can vary in color which is evidence of its authenticity. Its natural irregularities are purposely preserved so that each item is and remains one-of-a-kind. This item was printed then garment-dyed, adding unique depth of color to its marbled pattern. This marbled paper pattern was artisanally crafted by longtime LEMAIRE collaborator Atelier de la Folie in Paris. Mixing different shades to create an abstract pattern, it has been made using the same paper marbling techniques as those practiced since the 16th century.
