A highly detailed rendition of a leopard fur; based on the stylised Korean folk art of the Amur Leopard. This endangered subspecies of the leopard is one of the rarest cats on the planet. The last Korean leopard was seen in 1970 and many people consider it to be locally extinct. A small population of less than a hundred, still survive in the wild in Russia and China. Each strand of the leopard’s fur moves in accordance with the body and is depicted through the repetition of fine lines that join together to create a thick pelt. The fur is rendered in such detail that every single strand can be practically counted, almost so- that it feels as if you can touch the lush coat of this rare and mystical animal.
